Instructional Intelligence
The Queensland VET Development Centre is holding a series of one day introductory Instructional Intelligence (II) workshops in April 2011, utilising the expertise of the leading lecturer Vivienne Scott from Central Institute of Technology WA.
Instructional Intelligence (II) is not just a one day quick fix workshop, but instead proposes a holistic way of conceptualising teaching, learning and assessment. II is about developing as a practitioner. The instructionally skilled and intelligent practitioner can accurately identify, select, integrate, stack and blend together a range of instructional tactics, strategies and concepts, in a skilful and seamless fashion to create the most powerful learning environments to meet the diverse needs of all students. II is about the practitioner having the requisite knowledge and skills to design and effectively use a wide range of instructional skill sets, in a flexible and responsive manner. II is about the development of engaged, inspired, reflective teaching practices across a range of modes, contexts, and industries in which VET teachers work.
