- instructional strategies and skills
- cooperative learning techniques
- addressing different learning styles
- addressing literacy requirements in units of competency
- including employability skills in teaching of content
- generating student accountability
- peer observation and professional conversation

Speaker - Vivienne Scott

Vivienne Scott is an Advanced Skills Lecturer at Central Institute of Technology in Perth Western Australia. She has twenty years experience as a VET trainer, lecturer and consultant. Vivienne has inspired TAFE and private sector trainers and lecturers in WA and Queensland to become Instructionally Intelligent. Vivienne is passionate and committed to discovering ever more powerful ways of constructing safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. She has been a finalist in both the prestigious WA Trainer of the Year and WA Teacher of the Year awards. Vivienne has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and a Graduate Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
Speaker - Terrie Paterson
Terrie holds a Masters of Education and has 20+ years experience teaching in the VET sector. Currently employed with the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE, Terrie is passionate about quality teaching and enjoys teaching TAA/TAE to industry groups and external community based students. Terrie’s academic background and teaching experience enables her to apply theoretical frameworks within a practical VET delivery context. Terrie’s learnings in Instructional Intelligence have enabled her to further expand her VET teaching practice in an exciting and engaging manner. Terrie is keen to share the initial concepts, skills and strategies of Instructional Intelligence and looks forward to working with fellow VET practitioners.
