Date:         Friday 1 April 2011

Venue:      80 George Street, Brisbane

Participants in this workshop debated and discussed the main recommendations from the Quality of teaching in VET project. In addition, participants will be asked to discuss the steps that VET needs to take to support the development of VET teachers as expert teachers and expert practitioners in their vocational field of practice. We will explore arguments on the structure of the VET workforce, appropriate VET teaching qualifications, and continuing professional development, the development of a professional body for VET teachers, and the extent to which a national VET teacher development strategy would be helpful.
